Most cloud providers offer unique pricing discounts for customers to reduce the cost of resource usage. It is applied to the subscription and the metered level pricing to benefit the customers.. Cloud Assert introduced a new discount feature to help providers offer discounts to customers regular cost plan.
Applying discount to existing cost plan / pricing profile:
Billing → Pricing profile → Select child pricing profile → Override Base MRP
Administrators can apply discounts in the child pricing profile by selecting the Override Base MRP option to set rebate in the required meters. This saves time for administrators to apply discounts on top of existing meters instead of creating a new meter pricing.
By editing, the specific MRP administrator can view the additional discount, add markup, and override unit price options, where an admin needs to provide the discount value in cost or percentage. Sample cost calculator shows the discounted price for the specific meter.

Add a discount:
Billing → Pricing profile → Select child pricing profile → Override Base MRP → Select the required meter → Add Discount
In the above image, Monthly Unite price is Rs. 930.24 and the discount value (in cost) is Rs. 100. Hence the discounted cost would be Rs. 830.24 as in the sample cost calculator.
Add Markup:
Billing → Pricing profile → Select child pricing profile → Override Base MRP → Select the required meter → Add Markup
The administrator can also provide the markup value in cost or percentage, which would help admin to set the markup for individual meters.
From the above image for the same monthly unit price the markup value (in cost) is 100, hence you can find the final cost as 1030.24 in the sample cost calculator.

Override unit price:
Billing → Pricing profile → Select child pricing profile → Override Base MRP → Select the required meter → Override Unite Price
Under the Override Unite Price administrator can set the Monthly/ Hourly unit price and the minimum monthly fee if required.
