First release of Azure Connect Beta v1.1

Azure Connect beta for Windows Azure pack provides visibility for Windows Azure assets from inside Windows Azure Pack admin portal. Azure Connect custom admin extension enables importing Windows Azure subscriptions and viewing related resources.

Features in Beta 1.1 Release:

  • Auto-import Azure subscriptions via .PUBLISHSETTINGS file
  • Discover resources like hosted services, sql databases etc.
  • Dashboard with summary view for top usage, like Total Cores used across the subscriptions
  • Dashboard provides list of services and their status
  • Role Instances view lists all the role instances and status across the hosted services in all subscriptions. One place to quickly view all instances.
  • Remote Desktop Connection to any instance from the Role Instances view

Install Steps:

  1. Download CloudAssert.WAP.AzureConnect.Setup.msi from the provided download link
  2. May need to ignore any security warnings as this is a .msi and the browser usually complains. You can run a virus scan after the download if you want to feel comfortable.
  3. Run the setup on a computer where WAP portal is installed
  4. Accept license and click through next to finish the setup
