No Matter Your Azure Version, Hybr® Keeps You Connected

Microsoft renamed Azure Stack HCI to Azure Local , marking a significant shift in Microsoft’s hybrid cloud strategy. This change reflects Microsoft's ongoing commitment to enhancing hybrid cloud environments by improving local data processing capabilities, strengthening security, and optimizing costs.

While the name has changed, the need for a seamless hybrid cloud experience remains the same. Whether you're using the earlier Azure Stack HCI or transitioning to Azure Local, Hybr® ensures a smooth, future-proof experience for your cloud infrastructure.

Azure Stack HCI is Now Azure Local

If you're an enterprise already invested in Azure Stack HCI, the transition to Azure Local may raise concerns about compatibility, management, and operational continuity. With Hybr®, these worries are eliminated. You can cloudify your datacenter into a True Hybrid Cloud using any private cloud or virtualization platforms, including Hyper-V System Center, VMware vCenter, OpenStack, Azure Stack Hub, Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI), etc.

Additionally, Hybr® helps bridge gaps between legacy IT infrastructures and modern cloud environments, allowing businesses to scale operations effortlessly.   It also provides centralized control, enabling IT teams to monitor, manage, and optimize workloads across multiple cloud environments without additional overhead.

Multi-Cloud Freedom – No Vendor Lock-In

One of the biggest advantages of Hybr® is its ability to support multi-cloud environments without vendor lock-in.   In today’s dynamic IT landscape, businesses need flexibility in managing workloads across different cloud providers.   Hybr enables seamless integration across Azure, VMware, and other cloud ecosystems , empowering you to make the best choices for your business without being restricted to a single vendor.

With Hybr®, organizations can deploy and migrate workloads between on-premises infrastructure, Azure Local, and public clouds effortlessly, optimizing performance while reducing cloud-related costs. This flexibility allows businesses to leverage cost-effective cloud solutions while maintaining control over data residency and regulatory compliance requirements.

Value Benefits of Hybr® in Azure Local Environments

Hybr® makes managing your Azure Local environment (formerly Azure Stack HCI) easier.   It gives you the tools you need right now.   This helps keep costs down and processes smooth.   Hybr® also brings automation to many tasks.   This frees up your team to work on other things.

Hybr® ensures seamless workload management across Azure Local and Azure Stack HCI, eliminating concerns about version compatibility. Without the need for reconfiguration or migration, your operations remain uninterrupted, even when Microsoft updates or rebrands its platform.

By automating adaptability, Hybr® allows IT teams to focus on optimizing infrastructure and workloads instead of adjusting to naming conventions or version changes. This stability ensures that hybrid cloud environments remain efficient, preventing disruptions and unplanned downtime.

With built-in multi-cloud integration, Hybr® extends beyond Azure Local and Azure Stack HCI, offering the freedom to operate without vendor lock-in. IT teams can dedicate more time to innovation rather than troubleshooting version mismatches, streamlining operations for greater efficiency.

Reducing operational complexity leads to lower maintenance overhead, better resource utilization, and cost savings. This strategic advantage enhances scalability and agility, supporting business growth while maintaining a flexible cloud approach in an evolving market.

By ensuring continuous workload stability, Hybr future-proofs cloud investments, allowing businesses to navigate Azure’s changes with confidence. A unified, vendor-agnostic cloud strategy drives innovation, operational stability, and long-term success.

The Challenge: A Manufacturing Enterprise Expanding Cloud Operations

A global manufacturing company relied on Azure Stack HCI for on-premises infrastructure while using the public cloud for scalability. When Microsoft rebranded Azure Stack HCI to Azure Local, the IT team faced concerns:

  • Would their workloads still run smoothly?
  • Would they need to migrate or reconfigure their infrastructure?
  • Could they integrate other cloud providers without vendor lock-in?
  • How could they ensure operational continuity without extra overhead?

Want to know how Hybr Addresses These Challenges?

So their business-critical workloads could still run on Azure Stack HCI—but what if Microsoft made more changes?

Hybr®  automatically adapts to Azure Local or any future rebranding, ensuring businesses never face downtime or compatibility issues.

So they don’t have to reconfigure their infrastructure every time Microsoft updates the platform.

✔ Hybr® keeps existing workloads running without changes, saving IT teams from time-consuming and costly migrations.

So their IT team doesn’t have to spend weeks testing for compatibility or manually adjusting configurations.

✔ With Hybr’s seamless version support, IT teams reduce maintenance efforts by 40% and focus on optimizing performance instead.

So they wanted to integrate other cloud providers but feared being locked into Microsoft’s ecosystem.

✔ Hybr® supports multi-cloud management, allowing them to connect to AWS, Google Cloud, and VMware without vendor restrictions.

So they needed a way to manage resources efficiently across cloud and on-prem environments.

✔ Hybr® provides a unified dashboard, allowing them to monitor, scale, and optimize resources across Azure Local and multi-cloud from a single interface.

So they wanted to optimize cloud spending without over-provisioning resources.

✔ Hybr’s automation dynamically scales resources, reducing unnecessary cloud costs by 30%.

So they needed to ensure security and compliance across their hybrid infrastructure.

✔ Hybr® enforces automated security policies across Azure Local, ensuring compliance without additional manual effort.

The Business Impact

  • Zero downtime when Microsoft transitioned from Azure Stack HCI to Azure Local.
  • 40% reduction in IT workload by eliminating unnecessary maintenance efforts.
  • 30% cost savings with automated resource allocation.
  • Seamless multi-cloud expansion, avoiding vendor lock-in.

The Takeaway

With Hybr®, businesses don’t have to worry about Microsoft’s branding changes or platform updates. Workloads remain stable, costs stay optimized, and IT teams can focus on innovation rather than infrastructure management. What Does This Mean For You?

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to common questions.

What happens to my existing Azure Stack HCI deployments?

Your existing deployments will continue to function as they always have. The rename does not impact functionality or support. It is still easy to find a hardware partner.

All existing Azure Stack HCI information still applies.

Why Rebranding Matters?

Rebranding matters because it enhances clarity, market positioning, and customer adoption. The shift from Azure Stack HCI to Azure Local reflects Microsoft’s focus on hybrid and multi-cloud strategies, making it easier for businesses to understand and adopt. It also signals technological evolution, strengthens competitive differentiation, and aligns with future cloud innovations.

Will I need to re-purchase licenses?

No, your existing Azure Stack HCI OEM license remains valid. You can find additional details on the Azure pricing page. Your license remains valid with your original terms.

Where do I go for technical support?

Azure technical support is still where to go. If there are any issues, they will get taken care of by Microsoft support engineers. Support for Azure hasn't changed.

Is Azure Stack HCI going away?
